Abstract

The number of maternal deaths in Indonesia fluctuates between 2021 and 2023. Child health problems and changes in blood pressure are associated with weight gain in children. It is hoped that there will be the development of community-based health efforts accompanied by the design of appropriate improvement strategies to achieve more optimal results. The purpose of this activity is to find out about maternal and child health problems and to increase knowledge about the benefits of screening. Methods include interviews, blood pressure checks, weighing, and providing education about maternal and child health screening. The results show that the health problems experienced by mothers are hypertension and diabetes, while in children there were no health problems but the nutritional status of the majority is at risk of being overweight, and the mother's BMI is mostly obese. Education on the benefits of screening and how to maintain maternal and child health is provided to the community. The conclusion is that screening activities are beneficial for mothers and children and are expected to be carried out routinely independently at the integrated health post or health center. The involvement of cadres is needed in motivating and managing integrated health posts in the context of early detection and monitoring of maternal and child health in the community.
