The postpartum period begins a few hours after the placenta is delivered and ends six weeks
after delivery. During this period, postpartum mothers experience physiological and
psychological changes that require close monitoring. Health cadres, as partners with healthcare
workers, play a crucial role in reaching the community, especially postpartum mothers living in
remote areas or with limited access to health facilities. Data obtained by the Brenggong Village
Midwife revealed that Brenggong Village has 30 cadres. A preliminary study was conducted,
demonstrating that these cadres had not received training on early detection of postpartum
danger signs. The purpose of this community service activity was to improve the knowledge and
skills of cadres in early detection of postpartum danger signs. The method used was a lecture,
PowerPoint presentation, and leaflets explaining the danger signs of the postpartum period. The
results of the community service were seen in pre- and post-tests, indicating an increase in the
knowledge of health cadres regarding postpartum danger signs. In conclusion, increasing the
capacity of cadres is expected to strengthen monitoring of postpartum mothers and prevent
complications.
