This study aims to analyze the types of punctuation errors found in English writing by students at Junior High School Takhasus Nuril Anwar and to improve their ability to recognize such errors through an error recognition training program. The research employed both qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods, involving 30 eighth-grade students as participants. Data were collected through student writing samples, an error recognition test, teacher interviews, and classroom observations. The findings revealed that the most frequent type of punctuation error was omission, followed by misuse and addition. After the implementation of the training, students demonstrated significant improvement in recognizing and using punctuation marks correctly. The program also positively impacted teachers, who gained new strategies for teaching punctuation explicitly. This study highlights the importance of integrating punctuation instruction into English writing lessons and recommends developing corrective-based learning media as a follow-up effort.
